Insurance Coverage for Oral Appliance Therapy Explained
The first question our patients ask us by far is, how much is this going to cost? The answer to that questions lies within other questions…
I know, bear with me. This is relatively painless.
At Ohio Sleep Treatment, coverage for your oral appliance to treat sleep apnea falls under your medical insurance. Said another way, your dental insurance is not involved.
Consider the following questions when answering “How much does it cost?”
Which type of insurance do you have (Private, Medicare)?
Has your deductible been met?
If you have Medicare, do you have a secondary coverage in place?
If so, insert deductible question here.
Fortunately, at Ohio Sleep Treatment, we are well versed in dealing with medical insurance, their requirements and maximizing your individual coverage for the course of therapy. Additionally, the fee we charge includes the initial consult, the device and each titration (adjustment) visit. We are eager to answer any questions you may have about insurance, oral appliances or otherwise.
